Our Story
For over 25 years, the SHARE Center has been providing food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, and support services for people struggling with addiction and/or mental health issues. It started in 1992 with a group of individuals who had real life experiences with hardship and were committed to helping each other improve their lives. They knew the essential elements were Self-Help Awareness, Recovery, and Enrichment – a powerful philosophy that works.
The SHARE Center provides a safe space for recovery with access to numerous on-site resources that help move people from crisis to stability. Additionally, we are active members of the Homeless Coalition of Calhoun County, the Housing Solutions Board, Hunger Free Calhoun, and other collaborative efforts that address problems at the systems level.
The SHARE Center is a non-profit organization that is open 12 hours a day, 365 days in a year and serves over 2,000 individuals throughout the greater Battle Creek area and Calhoun County each year.
