Meet our Board of Directors
The SHARE Center Board of Directors is made up of dedicated and passionate people who truly understand issues of homelessness, poor mental health, addiction, and food insecurity. The SHARE Center Board meets the last Thursday of every month at the SHARE Center at 5:30pm. Click here for an archive of Board Meeting minutes.
Carol Wilbur - Board Treasurer
Carol has been volunteering at the SHARE Center since 2008 preparing and serving meals to those in need. She joined the Board of Directors in 2019. One of the reasons she became passionate about helping others is because she has experienced homelessness, domestic violence, and addiction recovery herself. She has been sober for 35 years and has lived in Battle Creek since 1986. She is an active member of Transition Island Ministries that serves dinner at the SHARE Center every second and fourth Friday of the month.
Carol likes getting to know the people who come to us for services. In addition to volunteering at the SHARE Center, she takes in pets with disabilities and likes to work in her garden.
Lawanda Crump
Lawanda currently works as a Registered Nurse, Care Manager, and has over 25 years in the medical field. She has experience in geriatrics, dementia, behavioral health, medical surgery, intellectual disabilities, and medical administration.
Born and raised in Battle Creek, MI. She has two beautiful children and three wonderful grandchildren who she loves spending time with.
In her free time, she likes to volunteer at local churches giving back to her community. She is an active Board Member of Compassion Cares - a non-profit organization in Houston, TX.
Lawanda is a very compassionate individual who empathizes with the day-to-day struggles in the world. She became a member of the SHARE Center Board to help empower her community and make a difference.
Shantina Stevenson
Shatina (Charles Richard Robinson) Stevenson Is currently Serving as a General Board Member if Share Center and Vice President of Amerindian Inc. Rescue Reservation which service Veterans during Holidays that can experience PTSD around 4th if July and New Year's. Shatina is a Veteran who graduated from Schoolcraft College with an Electronic Technology Certification and Biomedical engineering background.
Roy Shaffer
Member
Roy has been a pastor of the streets of Battle Creek for about 15 years. Whether it is on the streets or dealing with family members, Roy has a passion for helping people with mental health issues. Having experienced homelessness himself, Roy is also very dedicated to helping the homeless. He does whatever he can to help including volunteering for the Salvation Army.
Katie Plummer-Keefer
Born and raised in SE Grand Rapids, Katie attended Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School and Grand Rapids Community College. She is currently a Community Health worker at Summit Pointe. She is married to Jim Keefer and has one child and two stepchildren.
