We are so grateful the City of Battle Creek allowed us to stay at Full Blast for nearly three months. The AC unit went out and there was some other maintenance work that needed to be done, so we have returned to the SHARE Center building at 120 Grove Street). We rented a large tent and are still serving carry-out meals. Overnight tent shelter is also being provided thanks to staff from the Haven of Rest.

Being homeless makes people even more vulnerable to illnesses like the Coronavirus. The SHARE Center has been working with the Battle Emergency Operations Center and other community partners to ensure our homeless neighbors have all of their basic needs met in a supportive, safe, and healthy environment.
Working together, we were able to designate Full Blast as the temporary location for our day shelter beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. This allows us to accommodate our consumers with enough space for social distancing. The SHARE Center has also expanded its meal service and is offering take out at both Full Blast (for those who are homeless) and at the SHARE Center (for those who are housed, but need something to eat). The Haven of Rest is working towards a solution for overnight shelter. We are fortunate to have forward thinking community leaders who are looking out for those most at risk!
